Inflation at 46.1%
The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first six month of the current Iranian year (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Shahrivar) stood at 46.1%, down from 46.7% in the month before.
In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “hotels and restaurants” with 55.4 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services, followed by “clothing and shoes” with 47.7%. Food and beverages were 37.7% more expensive in the month of Shahrivar than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 201,7 indicating a 39.5% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
