Eurostat: EU27-Iran foreign trade in the year 2023 generated 4,733 million Euro  (-10%). The 27 EU coun­tries ex­ported goods worth € 3,934 million Euro (-6%) to Iran and impor­ted goods worth 799 million Euro (-24%). Ger­­many was the most important EU trade partner of Iran, with a trade volume of 1,434 million Euro, followed by Italy (751 million Euro) and the Ne­therlands (589 mil­li­on Euro). 

The European Union (EU27) export of goods to Iran in the year 2023 stood at 3,934 mil­lion Euro, a decrease of 6% compared to the year 2022. Accor­ding to the latest data by Eurostat, the sta­tis­tical office of the European Union, 30% of the EU exports to Iran came from Germany that de­livered goods worth 1,200 million Euro, that was 24% less than in the year 2022. Second (+15%) was Italy with exports worth 600 million Euro (+9%) fol­lowed by the Ne­ther­lands (543 million Euro, +39%), Belgium (309 million Euro, +16%) and France (282 million Euro, -10%).

In the year 2023 the 27 EU countries imported goods worth 799 million Euro from Iran (-24%). Most of the Ira­nian exports to the European Union (29%) went to Ger­ma­ny, which im­ported goods worth 234 million Euro from Iran (-16%), followed by Italy (151 million Euro, -7%), Spain (82 million Euro, -45%) Romania (60 million Euro, - 31%).

Im Jahr 2023 erreichte der deutsch-iranische Außenhandel einen Wert von 1.445 Millionen Euro und lag damit im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum 23% niedri­ger. Deutsch­land lieferte Waren im Wert von 1.200 Millionen Euro (-24%); die iranischen Liefe­run­gen nach Deutschland fielen um 18% auf 245 Mio. Euro.  

Wichtigste Warengruppen bei den deutschen Lieferungen nach Iran im Jahr 2023 waren Ma­schinen, Apparate und mechanische Geräte (371 Mio. Euro), phar­ma­zeutische Erzeugnisse (175 Mio. Euro),  optische, photo­gra­fische usw. Erzeugnisse (142 Mio. Euro), gefolgt von elektrotechnischen Erzeugnissen (81 Mio. Euro) und ver­schie­denen Erzeugnissen der chemischen Industrie (71 Mio. Euro) sowie Tabak (49 Mio. Euro). 

Die iranischen Lieferungen nach Deutschland im Jahr 2023 setz­ten sich u.a. zusammen aus ge­niessbaren Früch­ten und Nüssen im Wert von 70 Mio. Euro, ande­ren Waren tierischen Ursprungs (Häute und Schafsdärme, 45 Mio. Euro), phar­mazeutischen Erzeugnissen (37 Mio Euro) sowie Tep­pichen (21 Mio. Euro) und Perlen, Edel­stei­nen, Edel­­metallen (18 Mio. Euro).

MNA:   The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced that Iran’s economy grew by 5.4% in 2023.

In its latest quarterly report, known as World Economic Outlook, the IMF put Iran’s economic growth at 5.4% in 2023 nearly 1.6% more than the country’s economic growth in 2022.  The IMF has also reviewed its forecast of Iran’s economic growth for 2024 from 2.5% in October to 3.8%. The increase in Iran’s economic growth hap­pens at a time when global growth has slowed to 3.1%. The average economic growth of the developed econo­mies has been reported at 1.6% in 2023 while the figure stood at 2.6% in 2022. Developing countries have also had an average growth of 4.1% in 2023, indicating that Iran's economy increased more than the average of its equivalents. The Middle East economies grew by an average of 2%. In that region, Saudi Arabia recorded -1.1% growth. The economic growth of some other countries in 2023 were as following: USA 2.5%, Germany negative 0.3%, France 0.8%, UK 0.5%, China 5.2%, India 6.7%, Russia 3%, Brazil 3.1%, Turkey 4% and Pakistan - 0.2%.

IRICA:   Iran’s non-oil trade stood at $94.831 billion during the first ten months of the cur­rent Ira­nian calendar year (March 21-Dec. 21), according to the data released by the Isla­mic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), that is 0.4% more than in the first ten month of the year before.

The export volume of non-oil goods (excluding crude oil, fuel oil and kerosene and also without con­sidering exports of luggage trade) in the first ten month of the year 1402 valued at $40.472 billi­on, while the im­ports valued at $54.359 billion in the first ten month of the current year. During the mentioned pe­ri­od, the export drop­ped 11 percent in terms of value, however, the imports in­crea­s­ed by 12 percent in value, as compared to the same period of time in the previous year.

China (11.493 Billion US-Dollar), Iraq (7.733 Billion US-Dollar), the United Arab Emirates (UAE) (5.244 Bil­lion US-Dollar), Turkey (3.498 Billion US-Dollar) and India (1.820 Billion US-Dollar) were the top five export desti­na­ti­ons of Iranian non-oil goods in the mentioned ten months,

The UAE (17.081 Billion US-Dollar), China (15.213 Billion US-Dollar), Turkey (6.044 Billion US-Dol­lar), Ger­­ma­ny (1.768 Billion US-Dollar) and India (1.636 Billion US-Dollar were the top five sources of im­port.

 

The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first ten month of the cur­rent Iranian year (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Dey) stood at 43.6%, down from 44.4% in the month before. 

In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “hotels and restaurants” with 55.9 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services, followed by “clothing and shoes” with 46.0%. Food and beverages were 38.9% more expensive in the month of Dey than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 222,7 indicating a 38.5% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
