The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first seven month of the current Iranian year (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Mehr) stood at 45.5%, down from 46.1% in the month before.
In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “hotels and restaurants” with 55.4 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services, followed by “clothing and shoes” with 47.9%. Food and beverages were 36.1% more expensive in the month of Mehr than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 206,5 indicating a 39.2% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
