The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the seventh month of the year 1405 (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annual inflation for the month under review (Mehr) increased to 76.8%, marking a 3.2 percent increase from the previous month, In terms of point to point CPI rise, ‘tobacco products’ with 163.2% saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services; followed by furniture with 128.9%, transport with 128.0 and telephone and internet with 127.7%. Food and beverages cost 112.5% more than in Mehr 1404. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 761.8, reflecting a 4.4 percent rise compared to the previous month and a 88.7% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
