The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first five month of the year 1403 (started March 20). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Mordad) stood at 34.8%, down from 35.5% in the month before.
In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “housing incl. water, gas, electricity, etc.’” with 42.1 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services; followed by “education and training“ with 40.4%. Food and beverages were 24.4% more expensive in the month of Mordad than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 260.2 indicating a 31.6% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
