The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the last Iranian year (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Esfand) stood at 40.7%, down from 42.5% in the month before. 

In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “hotels and restaurants” with 49.0 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services; ‘housing incl. water, gas, electricity, etc.’ were 41.2% and food and beverages were 25.0% more expensive in the month of Esfand than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 230,2 indicating a 32.3% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
